Overview of Athletic
Functional Kinesiology
Science has had an important role in elevating athletic performance.
Through the science of biomechanics and functional kinesiology, muscle
contraction, movement and performance has been extensively analyzed and
perfected.
Additionally science have allowed athletes to achieve optimal conditioning
and performance skills.
Incorporating information from biomechanical physics has helped set
multiple records. These records owe their results to understanding
scientific factors such as momentum, acceleration, force, inertia, levers
and angles of muscle pull.
Understanding the role of individual muscles and functional muscle
groups, provides the bases for improved speed, coordination, agility and
most importantly functional flexibility. Flexibility provides for maximal
strength performance and is an important key in the prevention of
injury.
