Dr. Taras Kochno Sarasota Memorial Rehabilitation and Nursing Home Facility

 Taras V. Kochno, MD
Chairman of the Board

Board Chairman – NASPAC and

Medical Director, Sarasota Memorial Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility

Taras V. Kochno, a board-certified physician and medical specialist, is the Medical Director of sports Medicine and Rehabilitation International, LLC of Bradenton, Florida.  One on the country’s most sought after authorities in athletic performance, sports related injuries, and in the treatment of chronic muscle and joint pain, Dr. Kochno works closely with his patients to improve their quality of life.  Through many public presentations, research and teaching, he expands the general understanding of complex health problems.

Prior to joining Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Kochno was the Chief Clinical Operating Officer/Corporate Medical Director at Olympus Healthcare Group, Inc.  His primary role was to develop, implement and monitor the fiscal effectiveness of quality clinical operations within various reimbursement models including capitation, PPS, managed care and federal and state funding. He designed and implemented Olympus’ Progressive Care System, innovative clinical pathways that covered over 240 various medical surgical and rehabilitation diagnoses by which all patient care is planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated against consumer goals and expectations.

Dr. Kochno’s managed health care delivery experience includes development and negotiation of managed care contracts.  He helped to design and monitor operational systems which were created to ensure effective clinical and efficient fiscal outcomes while assuring that all beneficiaries received quality and cost effective care.  Dr. Kochno collaborated with large multi-specialty physician groups to align clinical systems and operations which allowed best practices in Medicare Risk products.

As Chairman of the Board of Directors of  NASPAC, Dr. Kochno works closely with its Board of Directors in establishing a presence on Capital Hill.  NASPAC has become a leader in the healthcare industry in post acute care education and continues to expand it’s educational services.   It is growing and assisting CMS in its understanding of the post acute services.  Dr. Kochno envisions that in the near future, NASPAC will become the industry facilitator of a much larger Post-Acute Alliance, bringing collaboration in numbers to become a proactive guide in government policies that affect the healthcare industry.
